LOCATION

EUMETSAT is the European agency for meteorological satellites: Headquartered in Darmstadt (Germany), the organisation has been operating weather satellites since 1986. The data and weather images are used by the meteorological services in the European member states. The head office in Darmstadt has been expanded repeatedly due to the organisation’s continuous growth. For the time being at least, the series of extensions and new builds has culminated in a six-storey office building with 160 workstations including a canteen for approximately 600 employees in total.

The company restaurant with adjoining cafeteria is designed to serve up to 600 meals a day and has seating for 250 people. Wooden acoustic panelling absorbs sound, while lounge furniture with red benches provide a colourful contrast to the white tables and chairs. Together with the quality and variety of the food programme, the EUMETSAT company restaurant fulfils the essential requirements of a modern canteen concept: It promotes the corporate culture and contributes to staff satisfaction.
