BLUe IS A GREEN TICK FOR DISHWASHER CHEMICALS

Winterhalter’s BLUe range is formulated for the environment and four have Ecolabels
Protecting the environment and sustainability are increasingly topping buying ‘must haves’ for foodservice operators. When it comes to dishwashing, being greener isn’t just about buying the right equipment, it’s also about using the most eco-friendly chemicals. Winterhalter’s range of BLUe dishwasher chemicals are formulated to be as environmentally friendly as possible, minimising impact and giving operators a big green tick in their eco-friendly objectives. Four of the BLUe range products have EU Ecolabels, guaranteeing that they meet strict ecological criteria.
The BLUe chemicals are designed exclusively for commercial warewashing in the foodservice industry. The four with Ecolabels are F 420e, an all-purpose detergent, S 6600e, an intensive oxi-detergent, and B 220e and B 165NE, which are both rinse aids.
As well as being ecological, the BLUe chemicals are highly effective, removing the need to rewash soiled items. For example, the F 420e detergent is formulated to work particularly well with dirt containing starch, protein or fat. Meanwhile the B 165NE rinse aid is specifically designed for use in utensil washers, helping users get the best possible results when cleaning pots and pans.
Some operators are wary of switching to eco-friendlier chemicals, fearing they may not work as well as traditional formulations. To counteract this issue, Winterhalter offers free trials of its BLUe chemicals so that potential customers can see how effective they are. For information, email [email protected].
The Ecolabel scheme is designed to promote products that have a reduced environmental impact throughout their life cycles. That’s why Winterhalter not only formulates the chemicals for minimal impact, but also supplies them highly concentrated, to last longer and take up less space, and in recyclable packaging.
While Winterhalter warewashers ensure sparkling results, with no need to rewash, they are also designed to minimise the use of chemicals. Thus on average one of the company’s UC undercounter warewashers will use just 4.95litres per 30 days, assuming 25 washes per day, while a PT passthrough will consume the same amount, even if processing 35 washes per day.
